Drafted by Tampa Bay and first playing in just 14 games spread over 2 seasons, in 2000-01 and 2001-02, Dmitri Afanasenko was crowned a Stanley Cup champion with the Lightning during his official rookie season of 2003-04. This photo-matched jersey was worn by the Russian in the 2004 Stanley Cup finals, including Game 1 on May 25th, Game 2 on May 27th and Game 5 on June 3rd. Made by Koho with a sewn-down size "56" label affixed to the inner collar, a Koho logo patch has been added over the reverse neckline while the NHL shield crest has been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Lightning team crest that features both textured and embroidered details throughout, the all-important 2004 Stanley Cup Finals patch has been sewn over the right breast and matching alternate logo crests have been placed over both shoulders. Accented over the sleeves and verso with "29" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Afanasenko" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate across the top of the back. Worn in three contests, game-wear is moderate, with a few stick marks to the front band and marks and light burns to the sleeves. There is also a bit of blue paint transfer over the top and front of the left shoulder.
