One of the larger and more physical defenseman during the era at 6’4”, 225 pounds, Larry Robinson aggressively patrolled the Montreal Canadiens blueline for almost two decades before finishing out his storied 20-year National Hockey League career with a trio of seasons in the California sunshine with Wayne Gretzky as a member of the Los Angeles Kings. A product of the Kitchener Rangers who was drafted 20th overall by the Canadiens at the 1971 NHL Amateur Draft, "Big Bird" would win a total of six Stanley Cups as a player while also donning the maple leaf of Team Canada numerous times including at the Canada Cup. Offered here, we present this stick used by Robinson while with Montreal during the 1981-82 season. A Koho made Custom Pro model twig with "Robinson" stamped to the upper shaft, a three (3) has been penned to the upper shaft which has had a four (4) penned over it in matching ink. Featuring largely intact striping accent stickers over both the upper and lower shaft, the stick retains its original tape job of white over the handle/knob and black around the blade. Having had a date stamp reading "OCT 09 1981" stamped to the underside of the shaft, the stick displays excellent game-wear via numerous dark and coloured marks throughout the length of the shaft with a heavy concentration of dark marks also present over the forehand side of the lower shaft, heel and blade as well. Of note, there is also minor wear and cracking to the underside of the blade as well.
