Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024

The key card of the 1986-86 O-Pee-Chee release, the first year cardboard of Patrick Roy leads the way in both importance and value. A 20-year old Quebec City native who grew up a fan of the Nordiques, Roy keyed the Montreal Canadiens return to Stanley Cup glory in the spring of 1986 with Patrick's heroics earning him his first of three (3) Conn Smythe Trophy awards as playoff MVP and came a year after he had backstopped the Sherbrooke Canadiens to the Calder Cup, emblematic of American Hockey League supremacy. The copy of “St. Parick’s” RC available here displays beautifully with the graders at PSA agreeing with us based on the NM-MT 8 mark that they have deemed the card worthy of. With overall excellent centering (the image on the front is a bit off from top-to-bottom), clean surfaces, sharp corners, smooth edges and gorgeous colours while being housed in a virtually flaw free PSA holder that shows light handling wear via light scratches and scuffs over both sides, we’re sure our lucky winning bidder will be pleased with this top of the scale addition to their collection.
