Trailing only Gordie Howe for the most all-time points at the time of his retirement in 1981, Phil Esposito secured over 700 goals throughout his HOF career, with selection to the NHL First All-Star Team six times. A veteran of 1282 games played in his National Hockey League career who won a pair of Stanley Cup championships, a pair of Hart Memorial Trophies and five (5) Art Ross Trophies, Esposito would be the first NHL player to eclipse the 100 point plateau. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984 and a member of Team Canada at the famed 1972 Summit Series against the Soviet Union, offered here is lithograph titled "When There Were Six" that has been signed by twenty-five (25) members of Team Canada's 1972 Summit Series squad. Done by Douglas Laird and measuring out to dimensions of 17" x 25", the piece is serial numbered "398/1950" in pencil at the bottom left corner. Signed by twenty-five (25) in black marker that displays well, those that have signed the piece include Esposito along with Pete Mahovlich, Stan Mikita, Brian Glennie, Mickey Redmond, Don Awrey, Paul Henderson, Rod Seiling, Pat Stapleton, Ron Ellis, Bill White, Yvan Cournoyer, Vic Hadfield, Guy Lapointe, Marcel Dionne, Brad Park, Jocelyn Guevremont, Dennis Hull, Red Berenson, Rick Martin, Serge Savard, JP Parise, Harry Sinden and Phil's brother, Tony. With all the signatures displaying well, and signed by Laird in pencil over the bottom right, the piece is found to be in good condition with just some minor edge and corner wear all the way around plus a small fold at the bottom right point. Accompanied by a COA from Mountain Rendezvous, the piece hails from Esposito's personal collection and comes accompanied by his signed LOA as well.
