Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024

Enjoying a complete lifetime in hockey, Max McNab would do it all during his career, everything from winning a Stanley Cup as a player in the National Hockey League to serving as Vice President of Hockey Operations with the New Jersey Devils. Also having served as a long-time coach in the old Western Hockey League as well as General Manager of the NHL's Washington Capitals and New Jersey Devils along with Team Canada at the 1982 IIHF World Championships, McNab would experience an NHL career that spanned a total of 128 with the Detroit Red Wings between 1947–48 and 1950-51, winning a Stanley Cup in 1950. Offered here and hailing from his personal collection, offered here is this framed vintage Detroit Red Wings "Original Six Era" multi-signed full sized felt player pennant with tassels. A white felt offering displaying letters that spell out "Detroit Red Wings" and a generic Red Wings hockey player in red, white coloured tassels are seen at the wide end along with a red coloured edge. Remaining in good condition despite the white being no longer crisp due to age, the piece, measuring out to roughly 29" without the tassels has been signed by many Red Wings players of the era though most have faded. Despite this, signatures that can be made out include those of deceased HOFers Jack Stewart and Red Kelly. Displayed overtop of a red coloured matte and housed in a simple black frame that measures out to approximately 38 1/4" x 18 1/4" while showing no wear to make note of, the piece comes accompanied by a McNab Family LOA.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for any damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
