Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Formed in 1883 and joining the NHL as inaugural members in 1917, the Ottawa Senators were completely dominant during the early-1900s while retaining the Stanley Cup and defeating any and all who dared to challenge. This lot includes a pair of Ottawa Auditorium programs for Senators matches including Feb 5th 1927 vs Chicago (first Black Hawks season!) and Feb 9th 1928 vs Rangers. The 1927 program has the covers almost detached (they are held at the top by a piece of tape), with the interior apparently missing the centerfold, which would have had the Sens line-up (the Black Hawks line-up including legendary HOFers Hughie Lehman and Dick Irvin is still intact). There is also toning to the interior and rusting to the single staple. The 1928 program is 16 pages and complete, with the line-ups listed for both clubs including legendary HOFers Alec Connell and King Clancy for the Senators, and Ching Johnson and Bill Cook for the Rangers. There is just light to moderate handling wear overall, with a small tear to the back cover.
