Enjoying a complete lifetime in hockey, Max McNab would do it all during his career, everything from winning a Stanley Cup as a player in the National Hockey League to serving as Vice President of Hockey Operations with the New Jersey Devils. Also having served as a long-time coach in the old Western Hockey League as well as General Manager of the NHL's Washington Capitals and New Jersey Devils along with Team Canada at the 1982 IIHF World Championships, offered here is this collection of memorabilia from McNab's personal collection revolving around his time with the WHL's San Diego Gulls between 1966-67 and 1973-74 when he served in numerous rolls including General Manager, Head Coach and Sr. VP of Hockey Operations. Paced by a framed team-signed photo display of the 1966-67 Gulls. Featuring a vintage team photo and roster list that is mounted overtop of a cream coloured matte, a black matte is found around the edge of the piece with everything housed in a simple black frame that measures out to full dimensions of roughly 15" x 17" and remains in excellent condition. Having been signed by members of the club at the bottom of the display with vintage ballpoint pen ink signatures, those that have signed include McNab, Binkley, Hynes, Hilts, Robson, Sinclair, Panagabko and numerous others with the signatures all displaying well despite some varying degrees of fading. Also including McNab's 1970-71 watch, the timepiece made by Longines displays a simple dial with a black leather band and is engraved with "Western Hockey League 1970-71" on the reverse. Appearing to remain in working order, accompanying the watch is a pair of skates worn by McNab while serving as the Gulls' coach that have worn team logos on the outside of each boot and display heavy wear throughout while also having customized achilles guards. For the rest of the lot, including is a pair of San Diego Gulls book ends with one having had a plaque reading "Max McNab - A friend of the Gulls" affixed to the top of it, a vintage business card of McNab's that lists him as General Manager and Coach, a vintage Gulls Christmas card signed by McNab, a ticket stub from the first game at the San Diego International Sports Arena on November 17th, 1966, a vintage Vancouver Canucks photo of Gilles Villemure that has been signed by him with a ballpoint pen ink signature, a paperweight from the 1982 CHL All-Star Game, a 1969-70 WHL Press Guide book, a piece of Gulls letterhead, a 1975-76 CHL Media Guide, a Gulls hockey rink tray, pin back buttons and coasters and finally a pair of puck paperweights from when San Diego played the Soviet National Team on January 3rd, 1973. All remaining in good condition and displaying with light-to-moderate wear in instances due to handling and age, the lot comes with a McNab Family LOA.
