Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
The cream of the crop in the National Hockey League during the 1949-50 regular season, the Detroit Red Wings finished the seventy (70) game campaign with a standings topping record of 37-19-14 and would defeat both the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers during the playoffs to clinch the fourth (4th) Stanley Cup championship in MoTown's franchise history. Offered here, we present this scare and seldomly seen drinking glass that is decorated with facsimile signatures of the 1949-50 Red Wings squad. Just under 5” in height and in excellent plus condition with no flaws to report, included are Howe, Lumley, Stewart, Kelly, Abel, Lindsay, Babando, Pavelich, Ivan and Gerry Couture plus many others. Showing in a vintage image that shows a number of Red Wings including Howe and Lindsay sitting down and eating with an example of this very glass on the table, the image will NOT be included with the offered glass though a digital copy can be sent to the buyer if they so choose. Hailing from the personal collection of Max McNab, a McNab Family LOA will accompany the piece.
