Known as a power play specialist, more than half of Marc-Andre Bergeron's career goals and points came with the man advantage. Playing his junior hockey in the QMJHL with both the Baie-Comeau Drakkar and Shawinigan Cataractes, Bergeron would forge out a 490 game NHL career over 10 seasons. A Swiss League and Swiss Cup champion with the ZSC Lions in 2014 and 2016 respectively, offered here is this photo-matched Edmonton Oilers third jersey worn by Bergeron during the 2002-03 season of play. Made by Koho, the classic tie-neck style offering of air-knit material features size "56" and "Elite Sportswear" labels affixed to the inner collar while a "Koho" logo patch has been placed over the reverse neckline and the NHL should has been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with an Oilers alternate team crest that features textured and embroidered details throughout its entirety and was designed by legendary comic book artist and writer Todd McFarlane, matching secondary logo patches have been placed overtop of both shoulders as well. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Bergeron's number "47" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Bergeron" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Despite being worn for just a single game, occurring on March 31st, 2003 vs St. Louis, the jersey displays good game wear in the form of stick marks over the sleeves and the front plus reverse hems and board burns over both sleeves including a good sized one behind the left shoulder that includes a blue coloured board paint transfer as well. Featuring an Oilers set tag that has been sewn inside the reverse hem that denotes the jersey as being a "Set #2 - 2002/2003" offering, a MeiGray tag numbered "A01633" is sewn alongside it, with the company's population report listing the jersey as a "Third Set 2" specimen. Regarding the photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #1911786 (March 31st, 2003 vs St. Louis) to the now mostly washed out stick mark under the embroidered NHL shield on the reverse hem.
