Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
One of the most influential figures in the history of golf as co-founder of the Masters Tournament, Bobby Jones remains the only linksman to have ever won the Grand Slam. We offer an absolute treasure, with a photo signed by Jones and personalized to his great aunt May Reynolds Walker Brown - the sister of his grandmother. Hailing from the circa-1920s/30s (Brown passed away in 1936), the original approx 8" x 9 3/4" photo shows Jones in full swing, with excellent clarity and centering of the image. The signature and dedication has been executed in black ink, and it remains as bold and dark as the day it was penned. The photo itself shows a bit of edge wear along with silvering to the perimeter. Originating directly from a family member, the photo is accompanied by an LOA from PSA, with the autograph given a grade of 10 by the authenticators. As a point of reference, this item previously sold for just over $6,500.00 in 2010.
