This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
A veteran of twenty-three (23) Major League Baseball seasons who would suit up for the likes of Cincinnati, Montreal, Boston and Philadelphia, Tony Perez would be a notable part of the Cincinnati Reds dynasty that won four National League pennants and two World Series championships between 1970 and 1976. Registering 2732 hits over the course of his career as well as 379 home runs, Perez would be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000. Offered here, we present this bat used by Perez between the period of 1973-75 as a member of the Reds. A Hillerich & Bradsby made stick with "Genuine", Perez's signature and "Louisville Slugger" branded into the barrel, a Louisville Sluggers/Hillerich & Bradsby emblem is branded into the neck of the bat as well. Having had the model number "R43" stamped into the knob, the bat measures roughly 35" in length and remains uncracked. Sporting a coat of pine tar over the handle, the bat displays excellent evidence of game-use via numerous cleat and ball marks throughout the entirety of the barrel as well as a few larger dents in the barrel and knob while a couple of small bat rack marks are present also.
