Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
An American jurist and United States federal judge from 1905 to 1922, Kenesaw Mountain Landis was the first Commissioner of Baseball, serving from 1920 until his death in 1944. Best remembered for ruling over the Black Sox scandal in 1920, Landis was elected to the HOF by the Old-Timers Committee shortly after his passing. We offer a signed cut of Landis graded MINT 9 by PSA/DNA. A bold and completely dark thick ink signature executed on a small piece of paper with "Very truly yours" (this touches the beginning of the signature) along with "Commissioner" typed, the paper has been affixed to a standard index card with "Hall of Fame" and "Judge Landis" typed to the card. There is some glue residue along the perimeter of the paper to note. This is a signature that would be extremely hard to improve upon.
