The final Fall Classic victory for the Athletics in Philadelphia, the A's would not win another World Series until 1972 after moving to Oakland. Meeting the St Louis Cardinals in the 1930 championship, Philadelphia lost just Games 3 and 4, winning the franchise's second consecutive title. This encapsulated 8" x 10" original news service team photograph by Newspaper Enterprise Association of the 1930 world champion A's has been deemed a Type I by PSA/DNA. Featuring HOF members Connie Mack, Al Simmons, Eddie Collins, Lefty Grove, Mickey Cochrane and Jimmy Foxx, the players are positioned in two rows, with the full line-up typed on the reverse. There is also a few pencil notations, along with a reference dept. stamp date Oct 2, 1930. There is a surface bend visible only on the reverse, along with a few surface lines to the right hand side on the front. A PSA/DNA sticker is affixed, with a matching LOA to accompany. Type I team photos from the era rarely surface, especially for prominent championship squads.
