This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
The last Toronto Maple Leafs team to capture Lord Stanley’s coveted trophy despite being regarded as too old due to an average age of 31, the blue and white knocked off both the Chicago Black Hawks and the heavily favoured Montreal Canadiens to capture the club’s 13th Stanley Cup Championship during their 50th season of play as well as the 50th anniversary of the National Hockey League itself. Offered here, we present this team-signed lithograph by Brad Haley titled "Tribute". Produced in 1992 for the 25th anniversary of their Cup championship, the piece, measuring 22" x 24", displays imagery of all twenty-one (21) members of that years Maple Leafs squad as well as head coach, Punch Imlach, with 19 pencil signatures placed in the spacing below, with just Terry Sawchuk, Tim Horton and Imlach missing. Serial numbered "218/967" in pencil near the left edge, with this matching the included COA that is also signed by the artist, those that have signed include HOFers Stanley, Pronovost, Mahovlich, Pulford, Armstrong, Bower, Keon and Red Kelly, along with Marcetta, Stemkowski, Hillman, Pappin, Ellis, Shack, Baun, Conacher, Walton, Jeffrey and Aut Erickson while Haley has also signed over the right hand side. With all the signatures displaying well, the piece is displayed under blue and white mattes and is housed in a blue coloured frame that shows light wear to the corners and edges as well as the paper backing on the reverse, with full dimensions measuring out to approximately 31 3/4" x 30".
