Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/1/2024
Following in the great line of prominent superstar Montreal Canadiens goaltenders, Carey Price enjoyed fifteen seasons in a Habs uniform during his storied National Hockey League career, with numerous awards and accolades won including the Hart Memorial and Vezina trophies in 2014-15, a gold medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics and a World Cup of Hockey championship in 2016. A surefire future Hockey Hall of Fame inductee, offered here is this glove worn by Price in Montreal practice sessions in the early-2020s. A True L12.2 model catcher in Montreal's famed red, white and blue colours, "Crafted by Lefevre for" and "Price" are embroidered into the backside of the cuff while brand graphics are found over both the edge of the palm and backside of the wrist. Having been signed by Kay Whitmore with his initials in black marker ink on the outside of the wrist guard/cuff, the glove is one used by Price during practice as evident by the "Practice" label found just at the edge of the interior. Having had extra padding sewn into the palm on the front side and beefed up on the interior, the glove remains in excellent condition overall with numerous puck marks and some coloured paint transfer seen throughout while all the straps are in good condition as well. Additionally, Price has signed over the wrist with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue. Having had a Frameworth hologram affixed beside the autograph, a matching COA will accompany the piece.
