Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
The 1st overall pick of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Sidney Crosby has played in over 1200 National Hockey League games since his career began, every one of them in the black and gold uniform of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Owning a trophy case that includes numerous awards such as a trio of Stanley Cup championships, a pair of Olympic gold medals, two (2) Art Ross Trophies, two (2) Hart Trophies, and two (2) Conn Smythe Trophies along with many others, offered here is this pant shell worn by "Sid the Kid" in the era of the early-to-mid-2010s. Made by Reebok and in Pittsburgh's then black, sport gold and white colourway, the "Reebok" wordmark logo has been embroidered into the left thigh while the Penguins logo has been embroidered into the right one. Lacking any protection above the thighs, white and sport gold stripes run up the side of each leg and an NHL shield logo patch has been sewn over the reverse of the right left. Still sporting the belting system through the waist and the lace fed through the front, a size "LARGE" tag is found inside the front of the shell while "Sidney Crosby" is embroidered into the interior of the waist on the left side. Remaining in overall good condition, the shell shows game-use through a small handful of stick marks over both thighs and the upper portion, stick marks over the gold on the side of each leg and red board paint transfers in the white stripe of the right leg as well. Additionally, a Frameworth hologram is affixed beside the Penguins logo on the right thigh and is accompanied by a matching COA.
