Taking the meaning of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" literally, Marian Hossa would sign a one-year deal with the Detroit Red Wings for the 2008-09 season and record a total of 71 points in 74 games played with the club from Motown. A veteran of 1309 National Hockey League games who won a Memorial Cup with the WHL's Portland Winter Hawks in 1998 and a trio of Stanley Cup championships with the Chicago Blackhawks, offered here is this stick used by Hossa as a member of the Red Wings during the 2008-09 season. A Nike Bauer made Vapor XXXX model twig with "Hoss 81" graphics over the upper shaft, the retains its original ribbed white-cloth-over-white tape job on the handle/knob and black over the blade while the predominantly while coloured stick has been spray painted black over the lower half of the shaft as well as the heel and blade. Exhibiting overall light-to-moderate game-wear with a bit of stick wax applied over the bottom of the blade tape on each side, the shaft exhibits marks and abrasions throughout its entirety with some residue from a now dried out gripping agent applied as well. Also showing a small number of marks over both sides of the blade tape, the black paint sprayed on over the lower half shows some chips and scratches that are worth mentioning for accuracy. Additionally, Hossa has signed the stick with a silver marker ink signature over the forehand side of the heel that displays well despite some lightening from age.**ADDENDUM**Further research shows that this model of stick was also seldomly used by Hossa during the 2009-10 season as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, his first year with the club in which he posted a total of 51 points in 57 games played and helped Chicago to their first Stanley Cup championship since 1961.
