Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/1/2024
A product of the Florlunda Indians in his native Sweden, Robin Lehner would be drafted 46th overall in 2009 by the Ottawa Senators and would go on to an NHL career that would see him backstop the Senators as well as the Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks and Vegas Golden Knights. A Calder Cup champion in 2011 and also named the league's playoffs MVP the same year, Lehner would also win the William M. Jennings Trophy in 2019 and 2021 and the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy in 2019. Offered here, we present this glove worn by Lehner during a portion of the 2015-16 season as a member of the Buffalo Sabres. A Vaughn Ventus model mitt in Buffalo's white, navy and yellow colourway, navy coloured lace is found inside the pocket while "Lehner" is embroidered in yellow over the wrist guard. With all straps and laces intact, the glove shows good use via numerous puck marks and has been signed by Kay Whitemore with his initials in black marker over the outside edge of the wrist to certify it for NHL play. Also having been signed by Lehner over the thumb with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue, a hologram from Dave and Adam's Card World is affixed to the outside for the wrist guard alongside the Whitmore initials as well.
