Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/1/2024
A veteran of 959 National Hockey League games with 904 of those contests occurring in the uniform of the Chicago Black Hawks, Dennis Hull would begin suiting up alongside his brother, Bobby, beginning with the 1964-65 NHL season and would go on to play in a quintet of All-Star Games as well. Having potted 303 goals and recorded 654 points during his 14-year NHL career, Hull would also don the red and white colours of Team Canada at the 1972 Summit Series, posting four (4) points in four (4) games played. Offered here, we present this stick used by Dennis during the mid-to-late-1960s. A Northland Custom Pro Glass Fused model, “D Hull” appears stamped over the shaft while additional stamps from "Larson Industries" and team supplier "Gunzo's" grace each side as well. Featuring a mostly intact striping accent over the lower shaft, the stick retains its original vintage black cloth tape jobs over both the handle/knob and blade. Displaying with just light evidence of game-use throughout its entirety including via a small handful of marks/abrasions throughout the length of the shaft and additional marks over both sides of the blade tape as well. Also sporting a trio of good condition striping accent stickers over the lower shaft, it is also worth mentioning that it sounds like there is a crack somewhere under the blade tape when the stick is tapped lightly on the ground as a ringing sound can be heard.
