Second on the all-time wins list for American-born goaltenders, John Vanbiesbrouck began his career in Manhattan and saw him spend ten (10) seasons with the Blueshirts, the team that drafted him 72nd overall in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, with the young goaltender winning a Vezina Trophy in 1986. Offered here, we present this stick used by JVB during his forty-four (44) game stint as a member of the New York Islanders during the 2000-01 season. A VIC HyperLite model in New York's navy blue and orange colours, "Vanbiesbrouck" is stamped over the shaft and the twig retain's Vanbiesbrouck's original tape job of white over the handle/knob as well as the entirety of the blade plus heel and lower paddle. Displaying overall light-to-moderate game-wear in the form of puck marks over both sides of the blade tape as on the forehand side of the paddle and upper shaft, red post paint transfer marks are present over the reverse side of the upper shaft and various other marks and abrasions are found throughout while the stick remains free from all cracks and/or breaks but some wear to the top edge of the paddle is observed.
