Named the best goaltender at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games backstopping his native Russia, Nikolai Khabibulin was originally drafted 204th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 1992 and went on to suit up for five (5) NHL teams during his career, including Winnipeg, Phoenix, Tampa Bay, Chicago and Edmonton. A winner of 333 National Hockey League games over the course of 18-seasons in the league, Khabibulin would also hoist Lord Stanley's Cup in 2004 as a member of the Tampa Bay Lighting. Offered here, we present this signed stick used by Khabibulin in the era of the early-to-mid-2000s. A Bauer made Supreme 4000 model twig with "Khabibulin" stamped to the upper shaft, the stick retains "The The Bulin Wall's" original tape job of white wrapped around the handle/knob and white over the blade. Having been signed Khabibulin over the upper portion of the paddle on the forehand side with a gold marker ink signature that displays without issue, the stick displays excellent game-wear throughout including puck marks over both sides of the blade tape, paddle and shaft, red post paint transfer marks over the forehand side of the blade tape and reverse side of the upper shaft, wear/dents to both the top and bottom edges of the paddle, wear to the graphics on the forehand side of the paddle, a dent over the upper shaft and tears to the forehand side plus bottom edge of the blade tape.
