A long-serving captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Mats Sundin is currently the Leafs' all-time leader in goals and points. Having been drafted 1st overall by the Quebec Nordiques in 1989, Sundin would go on to play 13 of his 18 years in the NHL in the blue and white of the Maple Leafs and be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012. Offered here, we have this stick used by Sundin as a member of the Maple Leafs during the era of the early-2000s. A TPS Response model twig in bright yellow that is void of any factory "Sundin" identifiers, the stick retains its original tape job of white over the handle/knob, which has had Sundin's number "13" penned to it in black marker ink, and black wrapped around the blade. Having been sided by Mats over the forehand side of the heel with a bold blue marker ink signature that still displays well despite bleeding and age, the stick displays excellent game-use throughout including marks over both sides of the blade tape and various marks/abrasions throughout the shaft, lower shaft, heel and untaped section of the blade toe. Additionally, residue of a gripping agent that was applied to the entirety of the shaft is observed from pretty much top to bottom and there is a bit of tape residue over the upper portion just under the end of the handle wrapping.
