The first European goaltender to lead the NHL in GAA, Dominik Hasek earned considerable awards and accolades throughout his HOF career, and sports the highest career saves percentage in history. A six-time Vezina winner, Hasek also hoisted the Stanley Cup with Detroit in 2002 and 2008. From the era of his epic victory with Team Czech Republic at the 1998 Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan as well as his back-to-back Hart Memorial Trophies, offered here we have this stick used by Hasek during the mid-to-late-1990s as a member of the Buffalo Sabres. A Bauer Reactor R5000 model dating to either the 1996-97 or 1997-98 seasons of play, "D Hasek" is stamped over the upper shaft while a factory serial number is stamped to the underside in the same area. Retaining its original white cloth tape job over the handle/knob and blade plus lower paddle, the stick displays excellent game-wear throughout its entirety in the form of puck marks over both sides of the blade, paddle and shaft, red post paint transfer marks over the upper shaft, a pair of small cracks in the top edge of the paddle, a dent to the upper shaft and tears over both sides of the blade tape as well as the bottom edge of it. Of note, the the once white tape has now yellowed with age and there is some discolouration over the knob tape.
