The last NHL goaltender to wear a traditional player's helmet/cage combo, Chris Osgood enjoyed 17 seasons of professional NHL hockey, backstopping three different clubs which included two stints in Motor City with the Red Wings. A three (3) time Stanley Cup champion who currently holds the fourth (4th) highest career save percentage in the history of the National Hockey League, offered here is this stick used by Osgood during the 2001-02 season, his first as a member of the New York Islanders. Made by Hespeler, the HMP Signature Series model twig displays an "Osgood-1" stamp in blue over the upper shaft while the stick itself retains its original white tape job over both the handle/knob as well as its black wrapping over the blade and bottom of the paddle. Exhibiting good game-use throughout its entirety, puck marks are found in large quantities over the forehand side of the shaft, paddle and blade while marks and abrasions over the paddle on both sides have resulted in smearing of the blue paint that makes up the letters in "Hespeler". Also sporting rips to the blade and paddle tape on the forehand side and dents/chips to the top edges of the heel as well as an area of the blade, the reverse side of the upper shaft also shows numerous red coloured post paint transfer marks as well.
