Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
The first German-born player to win the Art Ross Trophy as the leading point scorer in the NHL, the Hart Memorial Trophy as regular season MVP, and the Ted Lindsay Award for most outstanding player, Leon Draisaitl is not one to shy away from pulling off moves that put him in highlight reels all over the league, with many coming his way due to the fact that he serves as the right-hand man to the Oilers other superstar, Connor McDavid. Offered here, we present this copy of Leon's coveted "Signature Material Patch" card from Upper Deck's 2017-18 The Cup release. Displaying an action image of Draisaitl over the upper portion of the card on the front, which has also been accented with gold foil, a swatch of materials taken from an Oilers jersey worn during an NHL game by Leon has been embedded into the front of the card and shows all three (3) of the colours in Edmonton's uniforms. Also having signed the bottom portion of the front of the card with a blue marker ink on-card autograph that displays without issue, a serial number reading "94/99" in gold foil is present over the upper left. Remaining in its original raw and ungraded form, the card displays in excellent condition with what appears to be just very light touches of wear to the edges and corners that is worth making mention of for accuracy.
