Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
Perennial scorers throughout their careers with each especially talented at putting the puck in the net, Wayne Gretzky’s famous 92 goals during the 1981-82 NHL season remains the highest single-season total in history – with this record surely to stand the test of time – while Maurice Richard was the very first to plot 50 in a single campaign. Combining to win a total of twelve (12) Stanley Cup championships during their careers, both men would be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961 and 1999 respectively. Offered here, we present this "Vintage Memorabilia 2" card of both Richard and Gretzky that hails from ITG's 2014-15 In The Game Used hockey release. Displaying a posed image of Richard over the front as well as the backside of Gretzky's Oilers jersey, leather swatches cut from equipment/memorabilia used by each player have been embedded into the front of the card, which also displays a silver foil serial number that reads "14/15" along the top edge. Found in its original raw ungraded state, the card displays in excellent condition with just light touches of wear to the corners and edges that are worth mentioning for accuracy.
