Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/1/2024
Making his debut in junior hockey in the 1962–63 season for the new Oshawa Generals in the Metro Junior A League, Bobby Orr was instantly a star at just 14, scoring 21 points in 34 games. The following season, the Generals joined the OHA, with Orr again dazzling spectators, scoring 72 points in just 56 games. Two more especially strong seasons would follow in Oshawa, with Orr named a league All-Star in three of his four seasons of junior hockey. We have a pair of vintage period photos of Orr during his time with the Generals. Both 8" x 10", one matte finish image shows Orr with teammate receiving a trophy, while the second glossy photo shows a typical team shot of the Generals including Orr from the 1964-65 season, with a small caption affixed along the bottom of the photo. Both photos exhibit just minimal handling wear, with clean reverses (the Orr photo with teammate sports a few small wrinkles/creases).
