Currently serving as the head coach of the ECHL's Newfoundland Growlers, Matt Cooke would play a total of 1046 games in his National Hockey League career after playing junior in the Ontario Hockey League with the Windsor Spitfires and Kingston Frontenacs. Suiting up in the NHL with Vancouver, Washington, Pittsburgh and Minnesota after being drafted 144th overall by the Canucks at the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Cooke would win a Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 2009 and a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2004 IIHF World Championships. Known as one of the biggest "pests" the National Hockey League has ever seen, offered here is this Pens jersey worn by Cooke during the 2010-11 season. Made by Reebok and featuring a lone size "58" tag affixed to the inner collar, the crests of both the NHL and Reebok have been added over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Penguins team crest that features embroidered details throughout its entirety, the distinguished alternate captain's "A" has been added over the left breast and the Consol Energy Center inaugural season patch has been placed atop the right shoulder. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Cooke's number "24" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Cooke" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Featuring customized taken in sleeves and a shortened fight strap on the interior, the jersey shows good game-wear in the form of stick marks over both sleeves and reverse, small spots of red board paint transfers over the left elbow, reverse and hem at the right hip, board burns over the lower front and both sleeves with some resulting in small unrepaired holes and finally, additional board burns to the left of the nameplate on the upper reverse. Having had a Penguins team tag sewn inside the reverse hem and accompanied by a Penguins LOA, the jersey has been photo-matched with Getty Image #110844771 (March 20th, 2011 vs New York) to the long loose thread on the lower right corner of the "2" on the left sleeve, and to the mark plus unrepaired holes below it.
