A product of the Ferris State University Bulldogs in the NCAA who originally went undrafted before signing as a free agent with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Chris Kunitz would go on to a career that would see him play in over 1000 games with the likes of Anaheim, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and Chicago over the course of fifteen (15) years in the National Hockey League. A four (4) time Stanley Cup champion and a gold medalist at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games with Team Canada, offered here is this photo-matched Penguins jersey worn by Kunitz during the 2013-14 season. Made by Reebok and featuring a lone size "56" label affixed to the inner collar, the front and reverse necklines of the jersey have been accented with the crests of both the NHL and Reebok respectively. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Penguins team crest that features embroidered details throughout its entirety, the distinguished alternate captain's "A" has been added over the left breast. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Kunitz's number "14" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Kunitz" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Sporting a Penguins team tag that has been sewn inside the reverse hem which denotes the jersey as being a "2013-2014 Game Jersey - Set 1" offering, Penguins equipment manager, Dana Heinze, has signed over the underside of the fight strap in thin black marker ink. Displaying game-wear on the lighter side, numerous loose threads are present in the letters of "Kunitz" as well as in the numbers of the sleeves and verso while a good sized team repair is observed over the left elbow. Also showing some pilling on the interior, the jersey has been photo-matched with Getty Image #453856613 (December 5th, 2013 vs San Jose) to the team repair over the left elbow and the long loose black thread at the top of the "4" on the reverse. An LOA will accompany the piece.
