Originally drafted 5th overall by the Boston Bruins at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Phil Kessel has gone on to win a trio of Stanley Cup championships while recording a career total of 992 points and holds the National Hockey League record for most consecutive games played at 1064. Joining the Pittsburgh Penguins beginning with the 2015-16 season and establishing himself as a playoff asset by registering 22 points in 24 games played as the Penguins won the Stanley Cup for the fourth (4th) time in franchise history over the San Jose Sharks, offered here is this Pens jersey worn by Kessel during that Stanley Cup championship winning campaign. Made by Reebok and featuring a lone size "56" label affixed to the inner collar, the crests of both the NHL and Reebok adorn the front and reverse necklines of the garment respectively. Decorated over the front of the jersey with Pittsburgh's familiar team crest that features embroidered details, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Kessel's number "81" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while "Kessel" has been spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Having had a Penguins team tag sewn on inside the reverse hem that denotes the jersey as being a "Set 1 - Game Jersey" specimen, the garment shows game-wear in the form of a few stick marks over each sleeve and a pair of pilling spots on the outside of the left elbow. Also sporting a bit of light pilling on the interior, Kessel has signed over the "8" on the reverse with a black marker ink signature and has added inscriptions reading "2015-16 Game Worn" and "2016 Stanley Cup Champions" in matching ink. Having had a JerseyTRAK sensor added underneath a piece of twill on top of the fight strap on the interior, the garment is signed inside the fight strap by Penguins equipment manager, Dana Heinze, and is accompanied by both a Penguins COA and a JerseyTRAK document that lists the games (15 in total) the jersey was scanned into by equipment staff.
Regarding a photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #503182480 (December 21st, 2015 vs Columbus) to numerous loose threads coming off both the "8" and "1" of the right sleeve. Additionally, a pair of 8" x 10" photos signed by Kessel that have Fanatics verification will be included with the jersey.
