A product of the Boston College Eagles in the NCAA who would be drafted 18th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Brooks Orpik would play a total of 1035 games in his National Hockey League career, playing for both Pittsburgh and the Washington Capitals over that time, winning a Cup with Pittsburgh in 2009 and a Washington in 2018. A silver medalist with Team USA at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, offered here is this Penguins third jersey worn by Orpik during the 2009-10 season. Made by Reebok, a lone size "56" label is affixed to the inner collar of the faux tie-neck style garment, which has had the crests of both the NHL and Reebok added over the front and reverse neckline respectively. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a vintage style Penguins team crest that is reminiscent of what the team wore during their expansion years, the sleeves and verso of the jersey have been styled with Orpik's number "44" in dual layer white-over-navy tackle twill numerals while "Orpik" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Having had a Penguins team tag denoting the piece as a "2009-2010 Throwback Third Jersey" offering sewn inside the reverse hem, the jersey shows excellent game-wear throughout via light stick marks over the reverse and both sleeves as well as team repairs and board burns over both sleeves as well. Also sporting a large coloured board paint transfer mark at the right elbow, pilling is present on both the interior and at the left cuff as well. Signed by Penguins equipment manager, Dana Heinze, with a blue marker ink signature inside the fight strap that has bled over time, the jersey is photo-matched with Getty Image #97550783 (March 6th, 2010 vs Dallas) to the team repair and coloured board paint transfer mark in the area of the right elbow as well as the blue coloured board paint transfer mark at the top of the second "4" on the right sleeve. A Penguins team LOA will accompany the piece. Of note, a light spot stain is seen on the front of the jersey just above the team crest that is worth mentioning for accuracy.
