Completing the 1952-53 NHL campaign in third place, the Boston Bruins defeated first-place Detroit in the semifinals, and met the Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup finals. We have a game-used stick team-signed by the 1953 Stanley Cup finalist Bruins. A Northland Pro model with no attributed name or number, the original black tape remains in place over the blade and knob. 17 have signed one side of the shaft mostly in blue ink, including HOFers Schmidt, Quackenbush, Dumart and coach Lynn Patrick, along with Sandford, Peirson, Klukay, Toppazzini, Labine, McIntyre, Lund, Creighton, Laycoe Armstrong, Henry, trainer Win Green and one other trainer. The stick shows heavier use, with marks to the shaft including red paint transfer, with the blade re-taped during the period, with a chip at the heel visible beneath the tape along with a small missing section at the toe. The blade also appears cracked beneath the tape.
