Topps and O-Pee-Chee hockey cards action from the first two (2) seasons of play in the expansion era are up for grabs here via this pair of starter sets from 1967-68 and 1968-69. Beginning with the earlier of the two (2) assemblies, a 1967-68 Topps Hockey starter set that includes 34 of the 128 cards found within the checklist, the grouping is found to be maid up of mostly lower grade offerings with most of them found to be in the condition vicinities of FR to G and G to VG. For the key cards, present at examples of 29-Geoffrion (GOOD - light creases), 33-Sanderson RC ("Authentic" - creased and has a corner missing), 38-Sather RC (PR to FR - multiple creases), 64-Mikita (FR to G - creased), 70-Cournoyer (FR to G - large bottom left corner crease), 72-Richard (PR - staple hole and creased), 79-Mahovlich (VG to VG-EX - light crease that shows on the reverse), 85-Giacomin (PR to FR - creases at bottom left corner and top right), 99-Cheevers (FR to G - light creases and corner wear) and 131-Howe (GOOD - light creases). For the 1968-69 grouping, this time coming from Canadian company, O-Pee-Chee, 70 of the 216 cards making up the checklist are present and accounted for and the contingent is found largely in the grade range of EX except for examples of #'s 58 and 118, both of which are damaged. For the key cards, present are those of 2-Orr (EX - corner ding at the bottom left on the reverse), 6-Sanderson (VG to VG-EX - small scuff on the reverse), 7-Esposito (VG to VG-EX - "black snow" over the front surface), 29-Howe (EX to EX-MT - slight corner wear at the bottom left corner on the reverse), 31-Mahovlich (VG-EX to EX - light chipping to the bottom border on the reverse), 34-Sawchuk (VG to VG-EX - tiny crease at the top left corner), 56-Worsley (VG to VG-EX - Off-center), 62-Cournoyer (EX to EX-MT - slight centering issues at the top), 63-Lemaire (EX - small ding at the bottom left corner), 67-Giacomin (EX to EX-MT - slight centering issues at the top), 122-Bower (EX - light "red snow" over the bottom part of the surface) and 123-Horton (VG to VG-EX - slight centering issues and bottom left corner wear). A classic group of vintage hockey offerings largely in an appealing higher grade range that is awaiting its new home in your collection, also included are fourteen (14) other 1960s Topps hockey cards that are in various grade ranges from PR to VG to VG-EX for their efforts.
