Exceedingly large by the standards of the day, the 1959 Topps baseball release rang in at an impressive 572 cards and was the largest Topps set in existence when it was originally released. Anchored by the rookie card for Bob Gibson and other key Hall of Fame cards, 1959 Topps Baseball offers a big change for vintage collectors in comparison to the previous releases, with a new design, large checklist and a variety of subsets that made the '59 set a memorable and groundbreaking one for those releasing cards from their wax wrappers. Offered here, we present this collection of cards from the notable 1959 Topps baseball release. Totalling north of 450 cards, the contingent presents with an overall mix of grade ranges including G to VG, VG to VG-EX and VG-EX to EX for the most part, with around half of them light reverse offerings and half dark reverse speicmens. Including many doubles and triples, the key cards present within include those of 69-San Francisco Team (VG - unmarked w/Willie Mays in photo - ding/bend at bottom right), 149-Bunning (VG to VG-EX - light corner wear), 156-"Ace Hurlers" (VG to VG-EX - w/Robin Roberts - light corner wear), 166-"Destruction Crew" (VG - w/Larry Doby - corner wear), 248-Red Sox Team (VG to VG-EX - unmarked - light corner wear), 300-Ashburn (VG to VG-EX (off-center and light corner wear), 306-Gilliam (VG to VG-EX - light corner wear), 310-Aparicio (GOOD - crease), 312-Newcombe (VG-EX to EX - light corner wear), 338-Anderson RC (x2 - one VG-EX to EX and one VG to VG-EX), 349-Wilhelm (VG to VG-EX - top left corner ding), 353-Flood (VG to VG-EX - light corner wear), 392-Herzog (VG-EX to EX - light corner wear and off-center top-to-bottom), 419-Milwaukee Team (VG to VG-EX - unmarked w/Hank Aaron in photo - bottom right corner ding/wear), 408-"Keystone Combo" (GOOD - w/"Nellie Fox/Luis Aparicio" - miscut), 420-Colavito (G to VG - off-center plus corner wear) and 455-Doby (G to VG - off-center and light bend on top). Also including a dozen (12) other team checklist cards that are all unmarked, don't miss out on this excellent collection of cardboard displaying the Diamond Kings and Boys of Summer from the golden era of Major League Baseball.
