Drafted 191st overall by Tampa Bay at the 2004 National Hockey League Draft, Karri Ramo would play in 159 games over the course of his NHL career, split between the Lightning and Calgary Flames. The backup to Tukka Rask at the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championships where his native Finland would win the bronze medal, offered here is the blocker worn by Ramo during the 2006-07 season with Tampa Bay and Springfield in the AHL. Made by RBK, the Premier Series model in black and white has “Ramo” embroidered on the underside wrist while Kay Whitmore’s initals are seen penned near the fingers on the outside. Exhibiting heavy use through numerous puck marks throughout as well as sweat staining, a small hole is seen at the tip of the ring finger with fraying observed at the bottom edge. Additionally, the piece has been photo-matched with Getty Image #72776099 (December 2nd, 2006 vs Ottawa) to various puck marks seen on the front and inside of the blocker.
