Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
Regarded as one of the toughest players in the history of hockey, Eddie Shore at age 35, would win the Hart Trophy as the most valuable player in the NHL for an unprecedented fourth time. Pictured here over this 1934-35 Diamond Match silver matchbook cover is the controversial Shore. The write up talks about his career path and how he broke into the NHL in 1926. Having been graded PR 1 after inspection by PSA, the cover shows various creases throughout along with a small area of paper loss on the front, stains on the reverse and general wear and tear to the edges and corners. Still a lovely example featuring a HOF player, don’t let this one pass you by. The PSA holder remains in good condition despite scratches over both sides.
