Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
Three years after being passed over in the first expansion of the modern era, Vancouver finally made it to the NHL for the 1970-71 season. Offered here are two desirable items from the Canucks' very first game, including a magnificent opening game program and a ticket stub from that game, a 3-1 opening night loss to the Los Angeles Kings at the Pacific Coliseum on October 9, 1970. The ticket stub has been recently graded by PSA and only five such tickets have been graded by PSA over the years. It displays the date of the game, the $5.00 admission price of the ticket, and the section, row and seat number. The October 9, 1970, Vol. 1, No. 1, edition of the Vancouver Canucks Hockey Magazine features Canucks and Kings lineups in the centerfold, including Canucks top draft pick Dale Tallon listed as No. 26. This Canucks inaugural NHL game program is complete with 68 pages and is unscored and remains in very nice condition while displaying handling.
