Granted entry into the National Hockey League during the first round of expansion in 1967, the Philadelphia Flyers have enjoyed considerable success throughout their history and quickly established themselves into the "Broad Street Bullies" during the decade of the 1970s. Claiming Lord Stanley's coveted mug in back-to-back years of 173-74 and 1974-75, offered here is this Flyers equipment bag that dates to the early-1980s. Produced by Gerry Cosby's of New York with their label affixed to the top of the bag, the heavy canvas bag sports "Philadelphia Flyers" screened to one side along with a Flyers logo that is seen in the middle. All black in colour with orange straps, a clear placard for an identification card (now empty) is seen on the side opposite the one decorate with the team wordmark and logo. Sporting moderate use with some light fading in areas throughout the piece, the bag displays with a number of small holes/rips to the canvas throughout as well as other marks and wear associated from use on numerous road trips and pack outs in its lifetime. Additionally, the zipper remains intact and fully functional.
