Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
Drafted by the Montreal Canadiens 1st overall in 1971 after what would end up being one of the most one sided trades in National Hockey League history orchestrated by then GM Sam Pollock, Guy Lafleur would go on to a career spanning 17 seasons and lead Les Canadiens to five (5) Stanley Cup championships during the 1970s. Offered here, is this copy of Le Demon Blond’s 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee rookie card that has been graded EX-NM 6 by SGC. Foreshadowing the career that “The Flower” would have, the reverse of the card states that “Guy will be a superstar”, a statement that came true as Lafleur would become one of the greatest in Canadiens history over the course of his career. Nice prediction, O-Pee-Chee. We have no doubt that our lucky winning bidder will enjoy holding and beholding this piece.
