A Minnesotan by way of birth, Dave Langevin starred at the University of Minnesota-Duluth prior to playing three seasons with the WHA’s Edmonton Oilers. Going on to help the New York Islanders to four (4) straight Stanley Cup championships to begin the decade of the 1980s, his hometown Minnesota North Stars would claim him in the 1985 NHL Waiver Drat and he would play his final full National Hockey League campaign in Minnesota's green and yellow colours that 1985-86 season. Offered here, we present Dave's complete player documents file from the team's archive. Highlighted by the following documents; 1 - the "Standard Assignment Agreement" sending Langevin from the Islanders to the North Stars. Signed by Lou Nanne, Bill Torrey and two witnesses. Stamped received by NHL Central Registry. 2 - the "Contract Addendum" for Langevin dated May 15, 1986. Document signed by Nanne and Langevin. Also, a memo from a North Stars VP to Nanne asking him to be more careful in drafting legal documents. 3 - Letter from Langevin dated October 30, 1985 telling the North Stars to his personal holding company. Letter signed by Langevin. 4 - Letter of Agreement dated October 31, 1986 between Langevin and the North Stars agreeing to a salary of $120,000 for the 1986-87 season.
