Two names that go together that ended up on different ends of Stanley Cup glory, the St. Louis Blues would make the Stanley Cup Finals in each of their first three (3) seasons of play in the National Hockey League after the expansion of 1967 but end up on the losing end of them all, including to the Boston Bruins in 1970 off a winning goal by Bobby Orr that would become one of the most famous hockey images of all-time. Offered here, we present this lot including a laminated framed photo display of "The Goal" that has been signed by Orr as well as a framed 1970-71 St. Louis Blues team photo. Starting with the Orr, an image that needs to introduction, the photo is housed in a simple black frame that measures out to approximately 21" x 17" and has a gold coloured plaque reading "Goodwrench Service Plus" at the bottom of the image. With the frame showing light wear to the edges and corners plus pen marks on the reverse, the image has been signed by Orr over the front with a black marker ink signature that displays with light fading. Of note, the autograph was originally dedicated but the dedication was partially erased. For the St. Louis Blues piece, a vintage 1970-71 team photo that shows light wear to the surface as well as some staining, the image is housed in a gold coloured frame under a blue coloured matte that measures out to approximately 19" x 17" and shows wear to the edges, corners and reverse.
