Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
The first Newfoundland-born player to play in the National Hockey League, Alex Faulkner was recommended to the Toronto Maple Leafs by Howie Meeker, and after playing one game for the blue and white, was claimed by the Detroit Red Wings in the Intra-League Draft on June 4, 1962. We offer his 1963-64 Parkhurst rookie card graded 7.5 NM+ by KSA. Slightly off-centered left-to-right, the card exhibits light wear to three corners, and there is a small dent at the bottom of the reverse.
It must be noted that the grading standards followed by KSA may not correspond to those currently employed by PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this piece through any of those services, then, would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
