Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
Just like it did in 1989 with baseball cards, Upper Deck's debut on the ice for the 1990-91 took hockey card quality to a new level and saw the company put out a first set that included a total of 550 total cards divided into two series. Chalked full of stars and rookie card offerings, those present in the release include Jaromir Jagr, Sergei Federov, Pavel Bure, Mike Modano, Ed Belfour, Mats Sundin and numerous others. Offered here, we present this collection of eighteen (18) 1990-91 Upper Deck Hockey factory sealed wax boxes that includes High Series (7), Low Series (8) and Low Series French (3) examples. Each containing twenty-four (24) total packs with twelve (12) cards in each pack, all of the boxes are factory sealed with however one ''high series'' box not having the Upper Deck logos on the shrink wrap and possibly indicating that its a rewrapped example. All remaining in good to excellent condition with only some light wear to the corners and edges underneath the shrink wrap observed on some of the included examples, it is also worth pointing out that some of the wraps themselves have expanded over the years and are no longer super tight to the boxes as they once were. Additionally, also included is a pair of 1991-92 Topps Stadium Club boxes that brings the included box count up to twenty (20). With each box complete with thirty-six (36) packs that include twelve (12) cards in each pack, the boxes both are unsealed and remain in good condition while showcasing some wear to the edges and corners that is worth noting for accuracy.
