Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/1/2024
Winning back-to-back Lady Byng Trophies in 1996 and 1997 as the League's most gentlemanly player, Paul Kariya holds numerous Anaheim Ducks and Nashville Predators team records. A veteran of 989 National Hockey League games over the course of a 15-year career, Kariya would win an Olympic gold medal in 2002 with Canada and be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017. Offered here, we present this Anaheim Mighty Ducks jersey that has been signed by Kariya. A Nike made replica of the alternate jerseys worn by the club between 1997 and 2000, Nike, size "XL" and "Made in Canada" labels are affixed to the inner collar while Nike "swoosh" logo patches have ben added over the reverse hem and left cuff. Decorated over the front with a Mighty Ducks team crest that features embroidered details throughout, the captain's "C" as well as Kariya's number "9" has been sewn over the left breast, sleeves and verso in stacked tri-layer tackle twill style while "Kariya" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Remaining in excellent condition with no flaws observed other than a slight indent in the "9" on the reverse, Kariya has signed over the number with a large silver marker ink signature that displays without issue. A JSA Auction LOA will accompany. A signed jersey from one of the game's legends, don't miss out on this one!
