The last set ever released by Canadian company Parkhurst and often regarded as the most visually appealing of all those that were put out into the world by them, the 1963-64 Parkhurst hockey set featured a 99-card checklist that pictured players from the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Red Wings. Up for grabs here, is this 65-card starter set of that final release with the majority of the included cards found to be in the condition ranges of EX-MT to NM and EX to EX-MT throughout its entirety. Missing the examples of 5-Bower, 9, 11, 14, 19-Imlach, 20-Clancy, 21, 23-H. Richard, 25, 26-Berenson RC, 29-Geoffrion, 32-Harper RC, 35, 38, 42-Faulkner RC, 45, 48, 51, 54, 57, 63-Kelly, 69-Shack, 71, 73,77-Mahovlich, 81, 84, 87, 90, 93, 94, 96, 98, 99-Maniago RC to complete the set, among the included key cards, leading the way condition wise are EX-MT to NM examples of 16-Horton, 30-Beliveau, 33-Ferguson RC, 39-Worsley, 40-Maniago RC, 55-Howe (very light touches of wear to the corners), 75-Keon (wax on reverse) and 89-Beliveau while cards viewed as being around EX to EX-MT include 17-Mahovlich, 76-Horton (light discolouration on the reverse) and 92-Ferguson RC (small print mark at top left border). Rounded out by a FR to G example of card #53 that pictures Terry Sawchuk over the front which is affected by a pair of creases, the breakdown of the remaining cards is as follows; thirty-one (31) seen as being in EX-MT to NM shape, sixteen (16) around EX to EX-MT condition, two (2) in the scope of VG to VG-EX, three (3) in the neighbourhood of G to VG and finally, one (1) presenting as PR to FR. Sure to pique the interest of all those that chase high-grade vintage cardboard especially when it comes to Original Six era or Parkhurst offerings, don’t let this bevy of opportunities slip through your hands to someone else!
