Much more difficult to track down than their 1939-40 black and white predecessors are O-Pee-Chee’s sepia-toned 5” by 7” cards that came after, with numerous aspects to fill you in on with this batch, its near-completeness an appealing attribute. A mixed grade assembly with most of the included cards seen as being in the vicinities of VG to VG-EX or better, the group is missing only those of 105-Mowers RC and 134-Crawford RC for completion, the contingent of key cards includes the examples of 101-Blake (EX to EX-MT), 108-Broda (VG to VG-EX - "dirty" reverse), 110-Drillon (GOOD - creases that show more on the reverse), 116-Reardon RC (VG-EX to EX - slight bend at top right and the bottom on the reverse), 118-Apps (VG to VG-EX - small crease bottom left), 122-Schriner (VG-EX to EX - scratches on the front), 124-Stewart RC (EX to EX-MT), 125-Lach RC (VG to VG-EX - corner wear), 130-Broda (VG to VG-EX - back stain), 131-Bentley RC (EX - slight corner wear), 132-Schmidt RC (EX to EX-MT), 136-Patrick (VG-EX to EX - small bottom right corner crease) and 146-Apps (EX - small dings to both left side corners. For the rest of the cards, the condition leaders, seen as being in the realm of EX to EX-MT include the examples of 104-Adams, 106-Quilty RC, 109-Kampman, 111-Metz, 112-Haynes, 113-Marker, 117-Langelle, 119-Hamilton, 120-Goupille, 128-Grosso RC, 140-Heron, 141-Metz, 145-Wilder RC and 147-Getliffe while oversized offerings seen around VG-EX to EX include 107-Taylor, 144-Demers RC, 148-Chisholm RC and 149-Wiseman RC. For the rest of the set, cards seen around the neighbourhood of VG to VG-EX feature 103-Stanowski, 114-Singbush RC, 123-Carveth, 126-Schewchuk RC, 127-Larson RC, 129-Douglas RC and 135-Benson RC while cards in the range of G to VG include 115-Motter RC, 121-Benoit RC, 133-Metz, 142-Heller, 143-Hergesheimer RC and 150-Goodman RC. Finally, the group is finished off with FR to G condition examples of 102-Sands, 137-Dahlstrom, 138-Bruneteau and 139-Kerr. Exceedingly tough to put together are these scarcities, with almost all of the work already done for you here.
