Trailing only Gordie Howe for the most all-time points at the time of his retirement in 1981, Phil Esposito secured over 700 goals throughout his HOF career, with selection to the NHL First All-Star Team six times. A veteran of 1282 games played in his National Hockey League career who won a pair of Stanley Cup championships, a pair of Hart Memorial Trophies and five (5) Art Ross Trophies, Esposito would be the first NHL player to eclipse the 100 point plateau and be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984. Able to boast about having 1727 career points under his belt including 778 goals between both the regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs, Esposito would close out his storied NHL career after playing forty-one (41) games during the 1980-81 season. Finishing with a total of 1282 games played in the league between Chicago, Boston and New York, offered here, and hailing directly from Esposito's personal collection, is this stick used by the noted goal scorer in his final NHL game. A Northland made twig that has had "Esposito" stamped to the upper shaft along with his "77" penned abover it in black marker ink, his now heavily faded registered pattern number of "0955" has been stamped over both sides of the shaft as well above a three strip foil accent sticker that is in place at the bottom of the shaft. Retaining its original tape job of white over the handle/knob and black around the blade and displaying an additional stamp reading "MAR 15" over the underside of the shaft, Esposito has penned a notation reading "Final Game Used Stick" in black marker ink over the upper part of the shaft on the forehand side. Also having signed the stick in the same area in matching black marker ink with the autograph displaying without issue, the stick shows good game-use via pucks marks and other abrasions throughout the length of the shaft as well as the heel and both sides of the blade while red post paint transfers are present in areas as well. Also sporting marks and small tears to both sides of the blade tape, the stick comes accompanied by Esposito's signed LOA.
