Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
After a two-year hiatus, Topps was back producing hockey cards for the 1957-58 season, once again featuring members of the four U.S.-based teams, with important rookie and star cards contributing to the near complete effort presented here. Found to be in an overall low-grade state throughout with the cards displaying in the grade ranges of PR to F and FR to G for their efforts, largely due to creases and rounded/worn/damaged corners, the set is missing just #'s 23, 48 and 49 for completion. For the key cards, included are those picturing players such as 10-Bucyk RC (FR to G - creases and rounded/worn corners), 20-Hall RC (PR to F - large crease and rounded/worn corners), 21-Lindsay (FR to G - creases and rounded/worn corners), 22-Pilote RC (FR to G - creases and rounded/worn corners), 34-Delvecchio (FR to G - creases and rounded/worn corners), 35-Sawchuk (FR to G - off-center and rounded corners), 38-Arbour ("Authentic" - torn/creased), 42-Howe ("Authentic" - back heavily damaged including paper loss), 46-Ullman RC (PR to F - creases and rounded/worn corners) and 53-Worsley (PR to F - heavy creases). Of note, it is worth mentioning for accuracy that card #29 of Ron Murphy is missing the top right portion of the card. Also including a group of five (5) extra cards, present among them are additional examples of the rookie cards of Glenn Hall and Pierre Pilote that are in the grade scopes of "Authentic" and "PR to F" respectively with the Hall damaged all over and the Pilote affected by the commonly seen creases and rounded/worn corners
