Regarded as one of the most memorable hockey sets that Topps ever put out and headlined by the key rookie card of "The Golden Jet", Bobby Hull, the company's 1958-59 release featured a checklist that consisted of 66-cards that feature the images of players from the four (4) American based National Hockey League teams. Found here in complete set form, is this assembly of Topps' desirable 1958-59 hockey release. Paced by a freshly graded example of the aforementioned Hull rookie card that has been deemed worthy of a PSA GOOD 2 designation for its effort, the image on the front displays well despite being off from right-to-left while all four (4) corners show wear and rounding. Also showing a pair of small creases at the top border, the card is housed for preservation in a PSA holder that is virtually flawless. For the rest of the set, largely found in the condition ranges of FR to G, GOOD and G to VG, condition leaders among the notables include VG to VG-EX offerings of 21-Bathgate (corner wear) and 30-Shack (corner wear and wax on back) while the likes of 2-Sawchuk (corners and small crease), 8-Howe (off-center and small crease at right border) and 13-Hall (corners and light bend at top right) are around G to VG. For the remaining key cards, 1-Armstrong (crease and 90-10 centering), 36-Pilote (small crease at top left), 39-Worsley (corners and surface wear), 40-Bucyk RC (corner wear and scuffed borders), 52-Delvecchio (corner wear and crease at top left), 61-Kelly (small crease at top middle) and 63-Lindsay (crease and 90-10 centering) are around the neighbourhood of GOOD condition while card #65 picturing Norm Ullman over the front sports corner wear, centering issues and multiple creases that put it in the vicinity of FR to G condition. For the rest of the set, nine (9) cards present around VG to VG-EX, twenty-three (23) cards are in the range of G to VG, eighteen (18) cards are seen as FR to G and two (2) cards fall into the scope of PR to FR. A splendid group of Original Six era cardboard, don't miss out on these!
