The first black world heavyweight boxing champion, Jack Johnson officially won 68 of his 94 contests during his lengthy 33-year career that spanned from 1897 to 1931. The Texas native also engaged in business, opening a successful nightclub/restaurant in New York City. Johnson passed away in 1946 at the age of 68. This framed letter has been signed by the champ. At 8" x 10" with a small personalized label glued to the top along with the date of Nov 24, 1937, the typed letter is in regards to his victory in what he calls "the Federal Reserve Bank case". His signature appears to be in black fountain pen ink, and it displays beautifully. Matted and framed to full dimensions of approx 14 1/2" x 17", a JSA Auction LOA will accompany.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for any damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
